peaceful sunday mornings are a thing of the past…….but i’m ok with that

much to everyone’s surprise (almost everyone) and delight, my sister and nieces showed up all the way from arizona without breathing a word of their plans to us.
we thought it’d be fun to have raina and sunny nap together, and while they did have ever so much fun, sleep was definitely not going to happen.

sunny’s outfit of choice from grandma’s communal clothing drawer. eclectic is the kindest thing i can think of to call this particular combination

this and that

hudson and cline decided to make scotcheroos and cookies to sell at our annual garage sale. this year, clint also had them keep track of their expenses and pay for supplies. (last year they made more money than i did at the garage sale)

supper plans at 6:00, i get the kiddos dressed and jump in the shower – clint’s still not home from work.
“i think it’s an emergency” hudson hollers
“what?” (i’ve heard that line before and am slightly skeptical as to how big the emergency actually is)
“sunny’s covered in mud!”
“i can’t catch the squirrel. i wanna hold it.”

garage sale salesmen
eating some of their profits
we stopped at a local charity to drop off the remaining clothes after the garage sale. we encountered a problem when the door wouldn’t shut because we’d put too much in.
clint had the brilliant idea of lowering cline (by his feet) into the clothing drop box so he could push the pile far enough away that the door would close.
no luck – cline couldn’t reach down far enough.
next lucky victim – me. as clint lowered me headfirst into the hole, i had visions of explaining to a police officer that no, we weren’t trying to steal, we were trying to donate. thankfully i got the mission accomplished successfully – phew!
