one benefit (trying to look at the positives here) of having all our children wake up before 7:00 am on a sunday morning….quality time.
i can’t say that i can remember the last time that we played “uno” before church…..and took a walk down the lane and sang songs on the front porch…it was actually more luxurious than sleeping in and running around like crazy trying to make it out the door in time for church with four fully dressed kiddos.

grandma fiechter was, and is, my hero.
she had so many clever little ideas and tricks; one brilliant trick she often used to keep small grandkids busy was having us wash her deck. we thought it was such a treat to head out with water, buckets and toothbrushes to scrub away on her and grandpas wood deck.
fortunately for me, it’s a timeless trick
